Hello Friends of Leap Studio & Gallery! We hope you've had a great Christmas and would like to wish you all a Happy New Year! It's been a busy time since our move to Rothes. Apart from selling art and running Scotland's Food Trail, we also provide live music to various venues including The Station Hotel in Rothes so if you are in the area why not pop along to their Hogmanay Party in Toots Bar? Stewart Mcleod has been singing and writing songs since his time at Lossiemouth High School, now a student in Aberdeen, he regularly gigs in Moray. This talented musician won through 3 stages of BBC’s, ‘The Voice’, just missing the televised live auditions. However, just last year he won a support slot to sing in front of Sir Elton John. Stewart will start off the celebrations at 7.30pm and international musician Bryan Tolland who will take everyone through to 2017. A graduate of the University of Glasgow and Glasgow School of Art, Bryan found international fame as co-founder and guitarist in the Glasgow band Del Amitri with whom he has written, recorded and performed world-wide. He has also regularly guested as lead guitarist in Scottish pop legends and chart-toppers, The Bluebells. Bryan co-produced and played on ‘The Speyside Sessions’ album, featuring Grey’s Anatomy star Kevin McKidd. The album topped the iTunes album charts in 8 countries around the world in June 2012, including the USA, UK, Canada, Australia & Spain. All download proceeds were donated to 'Save the Children’. www.thespeysidesessions.com

Original painting, unframed, 900 x 900mm Last Light by local artist Daniel Fairbairn which is on display in our gallery area at The Elgin Marble Company. Daniel is forging ahead in his new career as an artist after being made redundant from the oil industry earlier this year. He says, " While working at sea you’re often afforded some spectacular sunsets. This painting holds onto the final moments of one of these sunsets as the sun turns to the clouds aflame." http://www.leap-gallery.com/daniel-fairbairn
